Giorgos Stefanou is a contemporary composer from Greece and he’s interested in new ways of musical expression through computer technology. He was born in the north of Greece, in the city of Thessaloniki at 1982.
The last year lives in Crete island and studying at the Technological and Educational Institute of Crete, in the department of Music Technology and Acoustics in Rethymno city. Also he is a member of Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association essim.
In parallel he’s studying the local musical tradition in a philosophical point of view. Generally the relation between the new “culture” of globalized digital world and the old local cultures . Relations between the music culture of each society, the acoustic communication differences, the soundscapes of each culture.Which is the origin of sound and music, and which is the way to bring it to the new world of our times.
