UPDATE: You can hear a live modular music stream from my studio 24/7 at http://www.paulsop.com:8000/radio1.m3u
Stuff that I have sold:
I have been making electronic music for about 17 years. A lot of my music is an organic hybrid of extreme cutting edge digital algorithms mixed with old analog retro. I really like ‘riding the nonlinear knife edge’ where it’s either the retro controlling the digital, or digital controlling the retro. I’m always changing my studio a round a lot, so if you want to buy or trade for any of my kit, drop me a line. I am now building Modcan, Metalbox, Cyndustries and Serge modular which is totally awesome, and never crashes.

“Ave Maria Paulysynth” (Get)
In the spirit of circuit bending, I made my ‘own’ VST synth (it’s a paulysynth, hehe) by hacking an existing VST synth and grafting on a f*uc*ed up all-pass filter and two waveshapers in an out of control manner. Then I played ‘Ave Maria’ through it. The VST is available for download in the files section on my website.
“Deathray Numerology” (Get)
If you fill a MIDI channel to it’s max, you can get MIDI drop-out where your synth drops messages, and interprets messages in novel ways. So I set up a crazy patch with Numerology, an OS X modular step sequencer of trully inspired design to overdrive an Alesis Andromeda, and then back into Logic with a Space Designer convoluting reverb. It’s all done live, and you hear a bit of Andromeda Ribbon controller in there too. Not very musical, sort of binary and good for psycho’s, but I think it’s cool. It’s better when you put one speaker in front, and one behind. Kind of surround-mono vs. the tired stereo method of presentation.
“Blackscull_Orc_March” (Get)
I really like this one. Sounds like a bunch of orcs headin to Mordor for a picnic.
Groovetease (Get)
Part of the ‘god I hate loops series’ wherein I loop stuff, and apply much live filtration and processing.
Hum_Hum_1 (Get)
Part of the ‘learn to love your ground loop series’. Has good bass if you turn it up and use EQ to boost that bass. Live the hum. My first attempts at ‘wakka wakka’ noises – somewhat successful
This also has uses my non-patented ‘front/back’ speaker placement vs. the typical left-right stereo you normals probably are used to. Left goes behind BTW ;)
IEEE2000*Minimalist (Get)
Part of ‘just how many effects can I string together without things sounding like poo series’. This is an old one, probably 5 years old. Kind of like really white Christian hip-hop on acid.
Kragnor (Get)
Part of ‘can I do beats series’. The intro is kind of long (for blending into prior song mix). Features custom granulator code to make skiddy beat noises algorithmically. The last 1/2 is neat. This is the only track here I didn’t do live in one take.
Pop_n_Fresh_1 (Get)
Part of ‘ice cream truck music series’, kind of happy, teddy-bear. Highly subtle morphic synthesis going on. Everything recorded live, 1 shot, while I was Drunk and Happy (tm).
Proteus2 (Get)
Part of ‘homework series’, good background music to make you feel like you’re in a cold, alien, radio-active universe. Good to do homework to. Loops meditatively.
