Description
rand()% is an automated net radio station that streams real-time generative music. The station is controlled by a bot which generates a random playlist / schedule at the start of each day and then automatically runs artists' generative music patches and programs.

rand()% exists as a host for broadcasting generative based music and art and welcomes contributions and collaborations from artists and organisations worldwide.

Description: 85Kr utilises a stream of genuine random numbers, generated by a process governed by the inherent uncertainty in quantum mechanics. This is achieved through measuring the beta decay of Krypton-85 nuclei emitted by a radioactive source. The radiation source is located in Switzerland, at the bottom of a converted 70,000 litre subterranean water cistern. The randomly generated numbers are sourced across the internet into Max/Msp and used to generate a series of simple clicks.

The resulting audio is then analysed and the numbers dumped into the same text file which is then re-converted again... and again... and again.... Formatissimo deals with the issues of creation, iteration and endless recycling.
